About Holy Trinity Church
Holy Trinity Church is an active Anglican parish in Upper Brook Street, Winchester, Hampshire. Worship is shaped by the Catholic tradition within the Church of England, with Mass celebrated at 10.30 am on Sundays. The parish is affiliated with Forward in Faith and The Society, and comes under the Bishop of Richborough for alternative episcopal care. Its Grade II* designation dates from 14 January 1974.
The church was among those financed partly through parliamentary support for new places of worship during the nineteenth century. A contribution of £300 from the grant authorised in 1824 helped fund the project, which occupied land called Whitebread Mead. Henry Woodyer created the design in a Gothic Revival manner. Construction commenced in February 1852, and the completed building was both inaugurated and consecrated during July 1854.
