About St Alban's Church
St Alban’s Church is an Anglican parish church on Bartons Road in West Leigh, an area of Havant in Hampshire. It belongs to the Church of England and continues to occupy the site established for its present premises. The building is positioned near Havant & Waterlooville Football Club’s ground.
Its congregation initially met at a venue called the Naval Galley, where the first church was consecrated by Launcelot Fleming, Bishop of Portsmouth, on 7 April 1957. Work on a permanent building took place across 1965 and 1966. This later structure succeeded the Naval Galley premises and was consecrated on 16 July 1966. It remains the church’s home on Bartons Road.
