About Church of All Souls, Manchester
The Church of All Souls, Manchester stands in Ancoats, on Every Street. The Grade II listed building has been protected since October 1984. It ceased to function as a church that year and later housed a joinery workshop. The premises are currently unused.
William Hayley designed the church for Samuel Warren. Construction began in 1839 and was completed in 1840. Its Romanesque design is executed in brown brick, complemented by stone detailing. These materials and architectural style give the building its distinctive historic character.
