About St Katherine's Church, Plaistow
St Katherine’s Church, Plaistow was an Anglican place of worship in Chapman Road, Plaistow, in the London Borough of Newham. The church is no longer standing. It remained on the site until 1965, when it was pulled down to allow the area to be redeveloped.
Its origins date to 1891, when it began serving as a mission associated with St Mary’s Church in Plaistow. Worship initially took place in premises formerly occupied by the youngest pupils attending St Mary’s day schools. A dedicated church building was subsequently constructed and completed in 1894, replacing this temporary accommodation. It served the local congregation for around seven decades before being demolished.
