About New Testament Church of God
New Testament Church of God is a Pentecostal church in Arcadian Gardens, Wood Green, in north London. Also known as the Cathedral of Praise, the church occupies a building protected at Grade II and recorded by Historic England.
The building was erected in stages from 1901 to 1909. It was originally home to St James at Bowes, a Congregational church that later became part of the United Reformed Church. In 1977, the New Testament Church of God purchased the property for £75,000. The congregation had been founded by the Reverend Carter. The church has since continued in the historic premises under its present Pentecostal identity.
