About St Michael's Church

St Michael's Church is a Church in Wales parish church at Brynford in Flintshire, north-east Wales, lying south-west of Holywell. Also called Brynford Parish Church, it is protected with Grade II listed status in recognition of its architectural and historic importance.

Thomas Henry Wyatt designed the church, whose construction began in the early 1850s. On 6 October in 1851, the Bishop of St Asaph placed its foundation stone, and consecration followed on 12 July in 1853. About one kilometre north-north-west of the building, within Holywell Golf Club, are a pair of round burial mounds dating from the Bronze Age. They are called Clwt Militia, translated as Militia Patch.
