St. Francis of Assisi, Halstead is an active Catholic parish church serving Halstead in the Colchester area of Essex. It remains the local parish church for the Catholic community.
Catholic worship in Halstead dates from 1897, when Cardinal Vaughan visited to give talks on the faith. Following his visit, Mass was held monthly in a room on Rosemary Lane. A temporary place of worship was established in 1928 and later became the church hall. The present church opened in 1955, fifty-eight years after regular Catholic services began in the town.
