St Columba's by the Castle is a Scottish Episcopal church on Johnston Terrace in central Edinburgh, below Edinburgh Castle on Castle Hill's southern side. The congregation worships on Sundays at 10.00 am, and the church is designated a Category B listed building. It participates in an ecumenical partnership with Greyfriars Tolbooth and Highland Kirk and Augustine United Church, as well as wider church networks in Edinburgh and Scotland.
Built between 1846 and 1847, the church was designed by John Henderson in the Early English Gothic tradition. Some of its stone came from the former Royal Mile palace associated with Mary of Guise, Scotland's sixteenth-century queen regent. The arrangement of the interior reflected changes to Anglican worship connected with the Oxford Movement. During the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the building has also served as a performance space for C venues.
