About Church of All Saints
The Church of All Saints is a Church of England parish church in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire. It remains an active place of worship and has held Grade I listed status since 1966, reflecting its considerable historic and architectural importance.
A church was documented here by 1115, and the present nave dates from the following century. A northern aisle was constructed around 1200, with the southern aisle added later in the 1200s. The west tower and clerestory followed during the 14th century. Built from limestone, sandstone, cobbles and brick, the church has a lead-covered main roof and a pantiled porch. Significant work around 1500 included rebuilding the chancel and altering the aisles and tower. Further restorations took place in 1860 and 1890. Interior features include a 12th-century piscina, a 14th-century octagonal font, and a marble memorial to John and Joan Overton dating from 1651.
