About St. Macartin's Cathedral (Enniskillen Parish CoI)

St. Macartin's Cathedral (Enniskillen Parish CoI) is an active parish church on Church Street, set above Enniskillen in County Fermanagh. It serves as one of the Diocese of Clogher’s two cathedrals and contains stalls for the dean and chapter. The Grade A listed building holds Sunday worship at 11:00 am.

Christian worship on the site dates from about 1627, when a church was built during Enniskillen’s early development under Sir William Cole. Structural problems led to its replacement by the present church, finished in 1842 and incorporating parts of its predecessor. Originally dedicated to St Anne, it became St Macartin’s Cathedral following a new dedication in 1923. The chancel was extended in 1889. Notable features include a tower and spire rising 150 feet, ten bells capable of ringing peals or tunes, and a three-manual electro-pneumatic organ with 33 speaking stops.
