About St Michael and All Angels' Church, Waddesdon

St Michael and All Angels' Church, Waddesdon is an active Church of England parish church serving Waddesdon in the Aylesbury area of Buckinghamshire. Recognised for its architectural and historic importance, the church is protected as a Grade II* listed building. It shares its parish with several neighbouring churches and chapels.

Originating in the later 1100s, the building retains columns and a west respond from that period in the nave’s southern arcade. The nave and south aisle were lengthened during the 1200s, with further expansion and reconstruction of the chancel early in the following century. A north aisle was introduced around 1340, while a tower followed later that century. Restoration led by J. Chatwin took place in 1863, bringing renewed stonework, Staffordshire floor tiles, seating and bells. A replacement tower was completed in 1892, followed by further restoration in 1902. The font came from Blenheim Palace, and the pipe organ was built by William Hill & Sons in 1913.
