About Luss Parish Church

Luss Parish Church serves an active Church of Scotland congregation in Luss, Argyll and Bute. The Category B listed church is dedicated to Saint Kessog and occupies a setting by Loch Lomond. During the 1980s, it was seen on television as the parish church for Glendarroch, the fictional community featured in Take the High Road. Services are also broadcast online.

The site’s Christian heritage stretches back approximately fifteen centuries to its establishment by Saint Kessog. Today’s church was built in 1875, with substantial restoration completed in 2001. Within the burial ground are fifteen ancient monuments that have listed protection. To commemorate 1,500 years of worship at the site, a visitor centre serving Luss opened in 2010.
