About Helensburgh Parish Church
Helensburgh Parish Church is a Church of Scotland congregation based at Colquhoun Square in Helensburgh, Argyll and Bute. It continues to serve as a parish church and occupies a building recognised at Category B for its historic significance. The Reverend Susan Campbell MacGregor assumed responsibility for the parish in February 2025, following earlier ministry at Greyfriars Kirk, Edinburgh.
Architect James Hay prepared the design for the church, which was completed in 1853. Its present identity developed through two congregational unions. A merger with St Columba in 2011 created St Andrew’s Kirk, and the former St Columba premises were later adapted as The Tower arts centre. St Andrew’s then combined with Park Church during 2015, establishing the current Helensburgh Parish Church congregation. In the following year, the former Park Church property was repurposed as Scotland’s Buddhist Meditation Centre.
